Funded by Wrexham CBC, Community Agents work through their local community council to offer guidance, advice and support to those aged 50+ years. CAs provide local people with a friendly one point of contact. Their service is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.

Our Community Agent is Davena Davies. Davena was born and brought up in the Ceiriog Valley and is very familiar with the locality, social, cultural and wellbeing needs of those living in the parish of Glyntraian.

“Davena is doing an amazing job. It’s wonderful to see so much going on in the hall and that is bringing the community together.”

Dolywern resident

Davena’s role is to ensure older members of the community can easily access a wide range of advice and information designed to improve their quality of life, health and wellbeing. By positively engaging with residents, and connecting them with or sign-posting them to key services and organisations, she can help older people in our community make informed choices about their present and future needs.

A very active and innovative CA, Davena has introduced a fortnightly lunch club, which provides a healthy, freshly cooked roast dinner and a dessert for just £3.50. The club meets on alternate Thursdays 12pm – 2pm at the Oliver Jones Memorial Hall. She also runs a fortnightly Fish & Chip Supper Club at the hall on alternate Fridays from 4pm – 8pm in the weeks that the lunch club isn’t held. This helps ensure vulnerable residents get a hot, healthy meal at least once per week.
